About Rotary Club Epping

The Origins of Rotary Club

Rotary Club International, a global service organization, was founded on February 23, 1905, in Chicago by attorney Paul Harris and some of his friends. The idea behind the Rotary Club was to create a place where professionals from various backgrounds could meet regularly to foster friendships and exchange ideas.

The name “Rotary” was chosen because the early meetings rotated among the members’ offices. Over the years, it evolved into an international network of clubs, dedicated to promoting goodwill and peace through community service and humanitarian projects.

Today, the club continues to be a friendly space for professionals to meet and chat about ideas as well as making a positive impact on communities local and worldwide.
