Burns Night Luncheon

ROTARIANS DOING ROTARY THINGS !

It’s been a busy week for The Rotary Club of Epping.

Members have been playing Scrabble and Tenpin bowling as part of the annual district sports tournament .

Christine has represented Rotary at a dinner in Epping held by members of The Epping Foodbank team and also had a wonderful afternoon with Voluntary Action Epping Forest – ACE Activities.

As an active fund raiser during her time as Mayor of Epping  and through Rotary,  she was invited to a Burns Night luncheon on Wednesday along with the current Mayor, Cherry McCredie and her husband John.

Also from Rotary, Trevor Johnson , as Chairman of Trustees of Grange Farm led the proceedings ( and the singing).

Tables were decorated with tartan runners and napkins and the room decorated with various Scottish artifacts – including pictures of Nessie herself!

The haggis was piped in and the traditional meal  of haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by cranachan, shortbread, honey cake, and flapjacks which was cooked and served by the folks who attend ACE Activities and who all benefit from the care, leadership, and friendship from the brilliant volunteers.

It is wonderful to be part of this amazing group!

Rotary has supported VAEF for a long time and hopefully will continue to do so in the future.
